Sa Pa Ri

Sa Pa Ri belongs to Paiwan aboriginal people born in 1948. In his childhood, he lived in a traditional tribe of the Paiwan, so he was naturally good for the knowledge of tribal living, for instance: hunting in forest, fishing in river and tribal sculptural skill. He ardently loves wooden sculpture and he has genius in carving. Since 1983, he has been working formally in the wood carving for 16 years. His works took a part in many governmental exhibitions in Taiwan and awarded with outstanding honor. Many private collectors purchased his works. He likes to describe the tribe story by the wooden carved pieces. The style of his works appears the dynamic life and peaceful feeling; just like the personality of himself. Sa Pa Ri has a dream: that is he will express the spirit of Paiwan aboriginal people with his carving works. Actually we see his dream is coming true gradually.
